Crochet Pattern: Beaded Stripe Pouch

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on April 9th, 2016 by Candace – 1 Comment
If you want to try your hand at stitching with multiple beads, this simple pouch is a great place to start. The beads on the front of the pouch create stripes that add weight and need no color changes–great for people who don’t like weaving in ends.
Use the bag to hold your tiny treasures or as a gift bag for jewelry and other small items. Or you can line it and keep your notions–like yarn needles–in it.

Sometimes it only takes a simple piece to make a bold statement. These earrings are easy enough for an adventurous beginner and eye-catching enough to set you apart.
Wear them convex or concave (or both at the same time if you like) to vary your look.

Crochet Pattern: Beaded Diamond Earrings

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on March 26th, 2016 by Candace – 1 Comment
My seed bead collection is ever-growing, so making jewelry with a bit of sparkle is a perfect way to spend my time (and beads). The pattern smoothly transitions from round to square to diamond as you work. Try mixing and matching thread and bead colors to make earrings that go great with spring and summer outfits. crochet_beaded_diamond_earrings

Crochet Pattern: Blooming Flower Coaster

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on March 22nd, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 9 Comments
Crochet a set of these flower coasters for spring using 3 of your favorite bright colors. This pattern is a sampler for the Lilac Trellis Mandala crochet pattern, as it uses the first 5 rounds to create this coaster. The pattern is crocheted with a number of color changes, some even requiring you to finish off. It also requires some stitches to be made on a couple of rounds below. Test your crochet skills by crocheting this coaster, then crochet the Lilac Trellis Mandala to match. crochet flower coaster

Have you given Bruges lace a shot yet? If you haven’t, this placemat is a good place to begin. It’s one continuous tape with consistently placed turns, perfect for getting the hang of how the technique works. If you can’t get enough once you get started, the pattern is easy to adjust to get a matching table runner. crochet_bruges_lace_placemat

Crochet Pattern: Chick Pincushion

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on March 8th, 2016 by Candace – 3 Comments
I’ve been in need of a new pincusion, and wanted to crochet one, but a lot of the available patterns looked too smooshy. I wanted something more solid and came across some foam balls used to make Christmas ornaments and other crafts. Perfect! Now I don’t have to worry about the pincushion possibly being squished and pins coming out the other side. The chick design makes it a fun Easter gift idea from one crafter to another. You can substitute other colors to make a chubby version of another bird. crochet_chick_pincushion

Crochet Pattern: Feather Cable Fingerless Gloves

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on February 19th, 2016 by Candace – 5 Comments
There’s been a lot of spinning talk around here lately, and since I’ve been getting more spinning done, it’s time I used more of my handspun up. This yarn called for texture, so I chose cables, and it is easy to adjust the sizing. Not a spinner? Don’t worry! While the pattern was written for my handspun, it will work for any comparable solid-colored or semisolid yarn–handspun or commercial. crochet_feather_cable_fingerless_gloves

Crochet Pattern: Pearly Heart Charm

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on February 4th, 2016 by Candace – 2 Comments
It’s that time of year! (No, not the countdown to that movie release everyone is talking about) It’s time for us to share our warm fuzzy, feelings. We can also share warm, fuzzy crochet projects. While this particular one lacks the fuzz (unless you want to try it with fuzzy yarn), it’s a nice choice for a gift that expresses your appreciation. Add it to a bracelet and share the love! crochet_pearly_heart_charm

Crochet Pattern: Bumps and Ridges Washcloth

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on January 16th, 2016 by Candace – Be the first to comment
What’s better than the feel of soft cotton against your skin? How about a little texture for some gentle cleansing? This cloth has both bobbles and textured ridges that get you nice and clean. The pattern can also be easily to adjust by adding more rows or stitches should you want matching hand towels as well. crochet_bumps_ridges_washcloth
