Crochet Pattern: The Polly Belt

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on June 26th, 2014 by Amy Yarbrough – 3 Comments
After watching an episode of Mission: Impossibe (the 60’s TV series) I saw a lovely lemon yellow belt paired with a navy blue suit and matching yellow pumps. My fashion interest was piqued. I set about making a similar belt pattern, complete with lemon yellow yarn. And now you can too!
Belts are all the rage these days because they highlight nearly any outfit. The best thing about them though is that they are incredibly simple to make. All you need is some yarn, a crochet hook, and a belt buckle, and you can whip one of these up in no time!

I recently realized that I don’t have many rectangular bookmarks. The easiest way to change that was to take out my thread and hook and work one up. Beginning crocheters who want to try fine yarns and small hooks can use this easy pattern to get comfortable with fine-gauge work. crochet_easy_bookmark

To those of us who live in the United States of America, the three colors that make up our flag is the essence of patriotism. When Betsy Ross sewed the first American flag, little did she know the effect it would have on her growing country. And yet it’s hard not to take it all for granted. Crochet Pattern: Hanging Blossom Earrings

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on May 6th, 2014 by Amy Yarbrough – 3 Comments
It’s hard to ignore the outburst of beauty that comes with spring. One of my favorite flowers are gladiolus and every year I watch my flower bed closely to catch the first glimpse of their glory coming out of the ground. Flowers are the best way to celebrate the arrival of spring. Being spring-inspired, I found some of my lighter colored yarn and started with the intentions of creating something dainty, just like new blossoms. If you’d like a stiffer earring, try starching the flowers before attaching them to the earrings. P1180150
