Hi KP, for row 1 “(ch 1, skip 1 ch, dc in next ch) across” means to chain 1, then skip 1 chain, then make a double crochet in the next chain. Since these instructions are within the ( ) you will repeat them until you reach the end.

What does “finish off” mean in your dishcloth pattern? How do you do that?
