Easy sweater patterns are my favorite thing to crochet! I will definitely try this one.
Is it stretchy enough for a 37″ bust, or should I add some increases in the is area?
Thanks for the great pattern, Allyson!

  10. Allyson says:

Erin, I think it would work, it’s more of a bulky sweater so…

  11. Glynis says:

Hi i started the pattern but on the row 9 i only ended up with 14 dc instead of 15 ive tried several times dunno what im doing wrong

    • Rachel says:

Hi Glynis, make sure row 8 has a total of 10 dc. On row 9 you will do “dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc” until you reach the end of the row, so you will actually be repeating those instructions 5 times and each time you repeat it you will be making 3 dc – for a total of 5×3 = 15 dc.

  12. Glynis says:

Hi Rachel i still cant do it, do i do the first dc in the same st as the chain 3 at beginning if i do that i end up with 16 stand if i do it the way it reads i have 14 cos its only repeating 4 times and im doing it exactly how it says helpppp

    • Rachel says:

The chain 3’s doesn’t count as a dc in this pattern. So you should have 10 dc stitches on the previous row, not counting the ch stitches. When you make your stitches on this row you are going to work into each of the dc on the previous row without skipping any stitches. The “dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc” uses 2 stitches on the previous row each time your do it. So if you have 10 stitches on the previous row, then you will repeat “dc in next dc, 2 dc in next dc” 5 times, since 10/2 = 5. Make sure you actually have 10 dc on the previous row and you’re not actually skipping a stitch on this row.

  13. Glynis says:

    ok thanks will try again

  17. QuietStorm says:

Allison, where and how do you sew the first two pieces to the front piece? Picture of the steps somewhere would be nice. So excited to make it work, though!

  18. QuietStorm says:

*Allyson, sorry, auto-correct was taking another turn at mind reading, lol…

  19. liz says:

yeah, i’ve got the first two small pieces and the front piece finished, and i’m also at a loss as to where to sew them. looking at the picture sorta-kinda helps, it looks like you sew them in the middle, so they meet? but i’d rather not fudge it, thanks.

Was there any update to this pattern? I would really love to make it but I’m a little worried since everyone was asking about where you need to sew it together. Please help!

  21. ellie says:

I dont understand how its supposed to be, first front, Rowe one, Chain 13 and Then make 10 dc in eaach ch Across. It becomes like a flower to Me.

    • Meg says:

You chain 13 and dc in the fourth chain from the hook, then dc in each chain to the end, resulting in a total of 10 dc’s

  22. Lindsey says:

I’m also confused about the first two pieces….where do they fit in?

  23. Allyson says:

Must try this since it’s named for me!!

  24. Chris says:

    Hi Allyson.
Great job on the sweater. I’ve noticed that a few people have asked the same question here. I have currently made the Front (Make 2) and the Front (2nd piece), but have no idea how to sew them together. Can you tell me exactly where they need to be placed? I know your instructions say “Take 1st 2 pieces made and lay them on 2nd piece (front sides facing). Sew pieces together.” Where do I place the 1st 2 pieces on the 2nd piece? Help would be appreciated. Thank you.

  25. Rachel Choi says:

Hi Everyone! I’m not sure if Allyson saw your questions, but I think you’re suppose to sew the first 2 pieces on top of the “front (second piece)”, which is a large rectangle. The first 2 front pieces are triangular and help to shape the neck. So you would sew the bottom of those 2 pieces onto the top of the large rectangular piece.

If you look in the pic, you can see the 2 front pieces at the top of the sweater near the neck (it’s a little bit covered by hair).

    I hope that helps some!

I love this pattern! As a beginner crocheter, how do I increase to fit a 40″ bust? Thank you!

  27. Karissa says:

I’m wondering about the back piece, how is it supposed to be sewn together?
