I used the little pony ties instead of rubberbands, and found that they work very well. Have made several versions using this pattern as my springboard. That is what I like about Pinterest… others give me ideas to start from, and then I can use my own creativity to make something unique. The dresses are so much easier for my great-niece to put on her Barbie, and each one is totally different. Thanks!

This dress is precious. I finished it in just a couple of hours. I made 3 sc in each stitch on the last row of thin metallic yarn, chain-stitched a belt and made a tiny flower for the bodice out of the same yarn – very glam . Thank you so much for sharing this pattern!!!

I love crochet i’m not really good at it, and I wanted to make clothes for my niece’s barbies, i thought this was a cute summer dress but it didn’t look so well at the middle of the dress so it became a skirt and my niece loves it, she’ s been wanting a cute yarn layered skirt for her barbie so if it doesn’t work as a dress it could be a skirt a top or a mini dress.

I made 2 of the dresses today. The 1st was to large so I reduced to 25 around band. It was a little off from the decreases but fit better. I have 3 Barbies so I am making 3. LOL thanks for the pattern. I would appreciate any info on other Barbie patterns. And those old dolls and clothes as well.

Hi Carole, to make the decrease you'll pull up a loop through one sc then the next sc, then yarn over and pull through all 3 loops that are on your hook. Here's a link to the decrease tutorial of you need it: How to Crochet: Single Crochet Decrease After the decrease you'll make a sc in each of the next 4 single crochets. Then repeat those steps all the way around.
