Crochet Pattern: Braided Bangle/Cuff Bracelet

By Corinne Munger – 9 Comments
This bracelet is simply made using a half double crochet stitch. You can easily make it shorter or longer to your preference. This can have different looks using different colors or fibers. I even found that stitched to the wrist of a pair of pre-made gloves gives you a great decorative cuff! Give it a try – it only takes a few minutes! cuff bracelet 013

You will now have three strips which will be braided into the bracelet. Lay the strips flat and be careful not to twist them as you are braiding them.

When you have them braided to the end, hold all three strips in one hand and hold the other end in your other hand and give the whole bracelet a good tug to straighten out the braid and to remove any looseness. Line up the ends of each strip in a straight line as you will be crocheting across all three of them. Attach your yarn to the furthest right side (or left side if you are left handed) strip as pictured:

Holding the ends of the strip in place, sc across the top of each strip (3 sc in each strip = 9 total)

ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across (this will “turn” your piece to be in the right direction for finishing),
Fold up opposite end of bracelet to meet the edge you just crocheted. Line up the 9 sc you just crocheted, to the beginning ch of 9 you started with. Slip stitch the two ends together.

Finish off. Stretch over hand to wear or sew to wrist section of gloves for a stylish edge!

Red is my favorite color so that makes the bracelet look even more beautiful. Now I know I have to make that to wear it. Thanks so much!!!

    WOW!
    This looks so simple…
    Thank You!!

    • It’s not only simple – it’s fast! I didn’t get a chance to put this picture up but I used this technique and crocheted longer strips to go around my head and made a really attractive headband. You can also use this same technique for a four-strand neck scarf (use bulky yarn and a “P” hook for a very stylish piece!

BEAUTIFUL!!!! What brand yarn did you use? The red is so striking and I love bracelets. Mahalo for the pattern.

  4. Super-cute cuff! The tutorial makes perfect sense as well. I love this for using scraps of pretty yarn left over at the end of a project! 🙂
