Crochet Pattern: Bunch of Grapes

Bunches of grapes make a nice addition to fruit themed decorations and appliques. They would make a nice addition to a market bag or an accent for a table setting or kitchen set. The finished bunch of grapes are one sided so that you can use it as an applique.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 2 3/4″ (7 cm) wide, 3″ (7.5 cm) tall

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 15 yards of purple and 5 yards of green)
Crochet Hook G (4.00 mm)

Gauge:
1 round= 3/4″ (2 cm)

Crochet Pattern: A Grape Bunch
Grapes (Make 6)
Round 1: Make adjustable ring, ch 3, 8 dc in ring, sl st in beg ch-3: 8 dc
Finish off.

Leaves (Make 2)
Row 1: Make an adjustable ring, ch 3, 6 dc in ring, turn: 6 dc
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc2tog, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last dc: 7 dc
Finish off.

Arrange the grapes and leaves in the bunch and sew them together.

    Why wouldn’t popcorn stitch worked in triangular patch work just as well?

    i wish i had seen this sooner! I used a grape cluster motif for my grandson’s first communion.. i made them from fondant for the cupcakes and self-hardening clay for the invitations…. i will keep this on file for future communions!! it would probably be cute on appliance covers as well….
