Crochet Pattern: Bunny Applique

By Emilee Gettle – 4 Comments
Here comes Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail! It’s time to start crocheting some projects for Easter. This quick and easy bunny is a great pattern for beginners. It is so fast to make and can be used in a variety of ways. It’s also a great scrap saver project for all those extra yarn bits that are lying around. This chubby bunny could be sewn on your child’s Easter outfit, made into a pin, used to embelish linens or baby gifts. If you like chocolate bunnies, then swap out the white yarn for a cocoa brown color. Have fun and happy crocheting this week!

Assembly
Using needle and thread sew the bunny head to the bunny body. I like to overlap the head over the body just sightly to give the bunny a chubby appearance. Cut a 5-inch piece of pink yarn and tie around the bunny’s neck into a bow.

  1. This is so awesome. I’m in love with bunnies. I have one I rescued from the park. Liked your page on Facebook.

How about enlarging the top hole to turn it into a door hanger? The extra dimensions on the bottom (this could be a snowman idea too?) could be used to attach words to; i.e. “do not disturb” “Anthony’s Room”, etc. Hmmm. Original pattern would be cute with a magnet glued to it for the fridge with the words, diswasher is…clean/dirty. Or maybe a miniature picture frame glued in front with person’s name attached on top? Hmmmm. Sorry, maybe you were already planning these for future posts? By the way, love your site. I love crochet!
