Crochet Pattern: Cherry Blossoms Binder Cover

By Amy Yarbrough – 7 Comments
A few days ago Cami posted an article featuring a handful of back-to-school projects from right here on Crochet Spot (click here to read it for yourself). I would like to introduce to you another project perfect for those school accessories, the Cherry Blossoms Binder Cover. The cover itself is very simple and made up solely of rows of single crochet. The design on the front is made up of surface crochet and embroidered french knots, both easy to do and very fun. Cherry Blossoms Binder Cover

Crochet Pattern: Cherry Blossoms Binder Cover
Row 1: with color A, ch 65, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 64 sc
Row 2 – 38: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across: 64 sc
Sc evenly around piece, working 2 sc in each corner, and skipping every second row along sides. Finish off.

Fold in sides at fifth stitch so that 4 stitches overlap each other. Join yarn in beginning and single crochet through both thicknesses of the next 4 stitches and across to next fold, single crochet over both thicknesses of last 4 stitches. Repeat with opposite side.

Design
With front side facing, use color B to surface crochet tree design using picture as reference. Tip: use stitch markers as a guide. With colors C and D, embroider french knots randomly around tree.

I’d love to help you out if you run into any problems! Just let me know how I can help you in the comments below and I’ll see what I can do.

Hi Amy, I am a crochet fanatic from Australia and thank you for sharing your lovely pattern, the kids loved it for something different to show their school friends.

I crocheted firslty in the blue color along with the beautiful cherry blossom design, then I changed the color of the cherries to a bright red!

I also made the covers in pink, green and orange.

    Thank you again Amy
