Crochet Pattern: Cool Coasters 4

This last week of cool coasters features a more multi-purpose coaster. Change up materials, colors and gauge to make a fun applique, a great valentines day gift or as the pattern below has instructions for, an interest adding coaster for your home! Skill Level: easy crochet skill level

Finished Size: 5″ (12.7 cm) X 5″ (12.7 cm)

Materials:
Sport Weight Yarn
approx. 10 yards (4 g)
Crochet Hook G (4.25 mm)
lightsmall

Note on Weight: pattern shown using mercerized cotton to give coasters a ‘stiffer’ feel and retain form

Gauge: rounds 1-3 measure 1″ (2.54 cm) across

Crochet Pattern: Cool Coasters 4

Row 1: ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook: 6 sc
Row 2: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in each sc across: 12 sc
Row 3: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 2 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in last sc: 18 sc
Row 4: ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 2 sc: 24 sc
Row 5: ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 2 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 2 sc: 30 sc
Row 6: ch 1, turn, sc in first 2 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in next 3 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 7 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next 3 sc, 2 sc in next sc, sc in last 2 sc: 36 sc
Row 7: ch 1, turn, sc2tog in first 2 sc, sc in next 5 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 9 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, ending with a sc in next 5 sc, sc2tog in last 2 sc: 38 sc.
Row 8: ch 1, turn, sc2tog, sc in next 4 sc, (2 sc in next sc, sc in next 11 sc, 2 sc in next sc) 2 times, sc in next 4 sc, sc2tog: 40 sc
Row 9: ch 1, do not turn, sc in each row across top of heart, fasten off.
Weave in ends! Make it pretty!
