|Spa products are typically pricey-but in reality you can make your own! One of my favorites are soap savers. They actually save you money by making the most of soap bars, make sure your soap doesn’t jump out of your hands, and also give you extra exfoliation. The great news is, they are easy to make! Rachel has already shared some fantastic patterns: 5 Simple Soap Savers and Absolutely Easy Soap Saver. These patterns use medium weight yarn; and so I decided to try my hand on a thread version.|
Finished size: 3.5″(9 cm) wide x 6″ (12.5 cm) tall when flat
|Materials: Size 10 or Size 8 Crochet Thread
Crochet Hook US 3 (2.20 mm)
Gauge: 8 sc stitches x 8 sc rows = 1 inch

Crochet Pattern: Delta Soap Saver
Row 1: Ch 21, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, turn: 20 sc
Row 2: ch 1, sc in each sc across, turn: 20 sc
Rows 3-5: repeat row 2
Do not finish off, continue with body.
Round 1: ch 1, sc evenly around base making 1 sc in each sc and 1 sc on the side of each row, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Round 2: ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Round 3: ch 7 (counts as 1 tr and ch 3 here and throughout), tr in first sc, [sk 4 sc, (tr, ch 3, tr) in next sc] 9 times, sl st in first tr: 10 v-stitches
Round 4: ch 7, tr in first tr, [(tr, ch 3, tr) in between next 2 v-stitches] 9 times, sl st in first tr: 10 v-stitches
Rounds 5-10: repeat round 4
Round 11: ch 1, (sc in next tr, 3 sc in next ch-3 sp, sc in next tr) 10 times, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Round 12: ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Round 13: ch 2 (counts as 1 hdc), hdc in next 3 sc, ch 1, (sk 1 sc, hdc in next 4 sc, ch 1) 9 times, sl st in first hdc: 40 hdc and 10 ch-1 sps
Round 14: ch 1, sc in each hdc and ch-1 sp around, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Round 15: ch 1, sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 50 sc
Ch 81, sl st in second ch from hook and in each ch across. Finish off.
Weave strap in and out of the ch-1 sps in round 13, and tie the ends securely into a knot. Put your favorite soap inside and tighten strap. Enjoy your new bath accessory! Or share them with friends and family.
