LOVE IT! They are perfect for our pots and pans! What a great idea!

  2. I love this. My son has some expensive metal pots and I burned myself on the handle of one not being used to them. I am going to make a set of these for the set of pots he owns. Thank you.

I made this while watching tv the other day. And used it while making dinner last night. I’m glad to say it works super well 😀 Now I have to make more (for my sister’s request).

Yeah, okay, I’d love to have my handle catch fire…Safety hazard anyone?

I would think the likelihood of that wouldn’t be that great. Unless you are sloshing around molten hot grease. In that case, you’ll be burning your hands and any pot holders or clothing in the vicinity. Not saying it CAN’T happen. But it doesn’t seem like it’s something to stop a person from making their metal handles cooler. I’ve burned my hands many a time on the pot set my daughter gave me. Since I mostly use pots for vegetables and soup…I’m not that worried. I think I’d hesitate to put the handle on a fry pan I planned to make bacon or deep fried chicken in, however. The chances of an accident would be greater, and the grease is certain to make a mess of the crochet handle!

If you use a wool yarn it is fire resistant.

Very nice! Aren’t those handle cozies great? Your pots look a lot like mine! I really need to post a picture of mine soon. Thank you for sharing!

  6. Dana says:

Am I understanding right, that you can leave these on while something is cooking, rather than taking them on of and off every time you check your frying pan?

Also, I think wool may be fire resistant, but doesn’t it shrink with washing? One more thing: how do you store these neatly when not in use?

Thanks in advance for any assistance. 🙂
