Crochet Pattern: Floral Coaster

It’s the time of year when cold drinks are on the menu, but that doesn’t mean rings on your furniture have to be, too. This is a fun little coaster to absorb the condensation so you can really relax when it’s time to enjoy a refreshing beverage on a hot day. Here’s to lemonade and iced tea on the porch!

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 2 1/2″ (6.5 cm) diameter (center), 4 1/2″ (11.5 cm) diameter (entire)

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 10 yards of center color, approximately 5 yards of petal color)
Crochet Hook H (5.0 mm)

Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 2 in pattern measure 2″ (5 cm) in diameter.

Crochet Pattern: Floral Coaster
Round 1: With center color, make an adjustable ring, ch 3, 12 dc in ring, sl st in top of beg ch-3: 12 dc
Round 2: Ch 3, 2 dc in each dc around, sl st in top of beg ch-3: 24 dc
Round 3: Ch 1, (2 sc in next dc, sc in next dc) around, sl st in beg ch-1: 36 sc
Round 4: change to petal color, working on front loops only, sl st in first sc, (ch 10, sk 4 sc, sl st in next 2 sc) until 5 sc rem, ch 10, sk 4 sc, sl st in last sc, working in back loops only, sl st in first sc, (ch 10, sk 4 sc, sl st in next 2 sc) until 5 sc rem, ch 10, sk 4 sc, sl st in last sc: 144 sts
Finish off.
