Crochet Pattern: Flower Hair Pin

By Emilee Gettle – 13 Comments
This flower is so easy and simple to crochet but it can be used a million ways. Lately I’ve seen crocheted flowers popping up everywhere on clothes, toys, accessories, and home decor. I love the fact that they can be made in little time and yet these simple appliques can really spice up anything their applied to. In your spare time crochet several using scrap yarn and save them in a jar for upcoming projects. If you have some extra bobby pins around the house this is a great way to infuse new life into them.

Do you think that you could make a pattern for a bow for a bobby pin? One of my friends had one and lost it, so I was going to make her another one. Thanks, Ika Musume

Or instead of gluing the flower on the bobby pin, you could slip it through one of the stitches before putting in in your hair.

@Jackie: (4tr, sc) is a group of 5 stitches, 4 trebles, then one single.

Emilee, thanks so much for sharing this little gem. I’ve fought and fought with thread crochet because it’s so doggone hard to feel in my fingers. But a pattern like this is great because it’s such a quickie, I won’t hesitate to frog however often I need to to get it right. ONE of these days, I’ll become proficient at lace–due to simple projects like this one.
