hi there, I have been searching high and low - without much luck on a "FLAT cupcake/muffin" pattern, and then decided to look for an ice cream cone to alter instead - it's for personal use, but I wondered if you could help me as I'm mostly self taught... how would I start this so I have a flat and not so elongated bottom? and maybe the top part not quite so high - I want it to look more like a muffin, not an iced cupcake... if you could help I'd GREATLY appreciate it! :)
thanks in advance,
Jen Hoover

Ah, thanks, Rachel. So I am supposed to put the hook into the *other* side of the cherry! I was putting it into the front side ('cuz it did not say otherwise), which was rather difficult. LOL

I have some self-adhesive strips of magnet and had thought I could use that. Well, I probably can -- once I put some good glue on the back, huh? ;-) Thanks again!

Hey Kat,
You would definitely have to glue the magnet to the back.
The directions are correct, the idea is to stick the hook into the "ice cream" then into the other side of the cherry to join the end of the cherry to the beginning and attach the ice cream at the same time. But if it doesn't work for you can just not insert it into the ice cream and sew it on when you're done.

Hi Rachel ~ I have made 4 of these. They are so cute! I was going to use one as a magnet for the fridge - but did not know how to get a magnet to stick to the yarn! I guess I'd have to use a good glue, huh?

Also -- the directions for the cherry are a bit confusing to me. Mine looks nothing like the perfect one in the photo. It seems odd to have the yarn still on your hook (from making the round cherry), then insert the hook into the "ice cream" and then again into the cherry. It comes out kinda lopsided. I then end up weaving yarn in & around the cherry to make it look better. But it still does not look like the photo. LOL So I have to ask: are the directions correct? If so, I just don't get it. :-o
