This sparkly embellishment can be made in a wide variety of ways just by changing the yarn color and beads. It can be used as an applique or as as an element in a piece of jewelry. It’s a great way to use up scrap yarn– make a bunch and use them to make necklaces or garlands or cover a bag or blanket with them.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 1 1/2″ (4 cm) tall, 1/2″ (1.5 cm) wide

Materials: Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 2 yards) 2 beads (any size the yarn can fit through) Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm)

Gauge:
Rows 1 – 2 in pattern measure 1 1/2″ (4 cm) tall by 1/2″ (1.5 cm) wide

Crochet Pattern: Sparkly Crescent
Row 1: ch 1 with bead, ch 7, ch 1 with bead, sl st in first ch from hook, sc in next 2 ch, 3 hdc in next ch, 2 dc in next ch, 2 hdc in next ch, sc in next 2 ch, sl st in last ch: 12 sts
Row 2: turn, sl st in first 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, hdc in next 2 sts, sc in next 3 sts, sl st in next 2 sts: 12 sts
Finish off.
