Hi there! What a wonderful idea. I wonder if the Caron Spa yarn which is acrylic/bamboo mix would work well for these poofs? I'd like to make one up as a birthday gift soon, and hope this doesnt take very long. I can see all the colors you can make these out of.

If cotton works best, I can do that too! Hope you are well.

Hi Lorraine, it should be all finished after round 3. After that you can weave your loose end into your work. Here's a tutorial on finishing: http://www.crochetspot.com/perfecting-your-craft-finishing-the-project/

Love this pattern, just used my first! I don't worry about the extra water or the soap remaining,, etc. One good squeeze takes care of the water' and If soap stays on it, you won't have to worry about mold! I can see I'll just be throwing this in from time to time with the wash. I didn't reload you weren't joining! I did on mine, and I also used a single crochet row after the second and third town, in a very contrasting color. Makes for a nice look!

The puff is made in the round like a spiral. No need to slip stitch after each round.

I would love to use this pattern- but I agree with many, the concern of weighing down the puff and it absorbing too much soap if it is made with cotton....

Plus, my hubs and I agree- we prefer the exfoliating feel of the plasticy poofs you can buy in the store- so what's the best yarn for that kind of exfoliating effect?

I like the suggestion AJ used, for using plastic canvas yarn- but how can you tell if it's what I'm looking for? Is any acrylic combo yarn ok to use? Has anyone tried this pattern with non-cotton yarns?

Any suggestions are totally welcome! Thanks!
