Crochet Pattern: Teardrop Earrings

Added to the Crochet Spot Store, this pattern set includes 2 different teardrop earrings! The beaded earrings are made with size 10 thread and use a total of 30 beads per earring. There is even a photo tutorial to show you how to crochet with the beads! The non beaded earrings use a light weight yarn so they aren’t heavy on your ears, while still maintaining its shape while being worn. Both earrings are easy and fast to crochet.

Finished Sizes:
Beaded Earrings: 1 3/4” (4.5 cm) long, 1 1/2” (4 cm) wide including beads
Earrings (no beads): 1 1/2” (4 cm) long, 1 1/4” (3 cm) wide

Size 10 Thread (small amount)
Crochet hook US 0 (2.55 mm)
2 Earrings hooks
30 Seed beads size 6/0 for each earring
Optional: Beading needle
crochet yarn size 0
Materials for Earrings (no beads):
Light Weight Yarn (small amount)
Crochet Hook F (3.75 mm)
2 Earring hooks
crochet yarn size 3

  4. Rachel, I’ve been designing and making jewelry for many years, and I’ve never really been interested in crochet jewelry before. Just looked at the patterns and thought “Nah.” These are cute! I love the one with the little beads! I have one wee suggestion for you, though. The earrings will dangle much better and hang in a better position if you insert a little metal jump ring in the body of the earring, and then insert the earwire into that, instead of directly inserting the earwire into the body of the earring. I learned this the hard way, by doing, as I was self-taught! Now, I’m wondering if I could crochet these earrings using an uber-thin sterling silver wire? Hmmmm? Think I’m going to have to try!
