Very pretty Claire! I could see that as a really nice thin scarf. I can’t wait to learn the stitches. Thanks for sharing.

I really like the stitch pattern. When I first saw the placemat, my thoughts ran immediately to “It looks like a corset!” The stitch pattern would make a beautiful top, with the thick bars going vertically.

Three Rivers Crochet (CGOA Pittsburgh chapter) is hosting a Holiday Sale in December; this placemat pattern would be great for this sale (with all the proceeds going to Rwanda Knits and Pittsburgh VA programs). I like that the pattern uses medium (worsted) yarn.

  7. Marilyn McGuire says:

I am unclear on what this means: Row 1: 49 fdc: 49 dc

so does it mean chain 49 and then dc in the chain? I assume that is what that means, but if you could confirm, that would be great.

This is a beautiful pattern and I think it will be an awesome shawl

    • Claire says:

Hello Mona! The base row should be made up of (a multiple of 3, plus 4) stitches. Good luck with your projects! Thank you so much for appreciating my contributions to CrochetSpot.
