I love to crochet and for the most part am self taught. My grandmother showed me as a child but I forgot how. Now I have a passion for crocheting. I always have yarn and a full collection of hooks in my purse. Whenever I am waiting on my children at their various activities I am crocheting. My favorite thing to crochet is flowers. I make them for everyone. I give them to charities and pastors to give out as they see fit or to sell. I am always looking for new stitches to try and use to make the flowers more beautiful. I have seen tunisian crochet written about but I have no clue what it is. Thank you for this chance to win this book. I look forward to your news letter each Monday.

I’d really like to get my hands on this book because I would love to learn some new stitches and it is in English. Mostly I have to buy books in French (guess where I live?) but even just to learn some new edging, instead of edging everything with shells, would be great!.

  12. Natalie says:

    Hi Rachel,
I am an advanced beginner crocheter. I have learned through many trial and error sittings with Mr. Froggy right by my side. I have just used resources that I can find online with direction and guidance for certain stitches, which is a task in and of itself. When I don’t have pictures to follow, I’m pretty sure I make up my own stitch and pattern, haha. Sometimes it comes out nice so that’s a plus.
Anyways, I have looked over The Crochet Stitch Bible when I was at Barnes and Noble awhile back and put it on my list for future endeavors. I love all the pictures it has, showing steps and closeups! I would definitely use this as a reference to check if my stitches have been correct for the past year. My real interests are to learn more stitches such as Spike and Relief stitches. I would absolutely love to learn Mesh and Filet stitches so I can use them in my wedding next year.
Thanks for the opportunity to have such a great book! ~ Natalie

    Wow….this book looks amazing!
I am just starting to branch out into the realm of different/decorative stitches so this is like candy to me— From the index, I find that there are more stitches that sound fun to try than I can count. Broomstick lace, dogwood, pineapple, Iris…..I could go on for about 15 more lines listing almost everything in there 🙂

  18. Claudia says:

Oh man, where do I begin!!!! I would ust this book for new stitches and edgings and….well just about everything! I love how the book is bound there is nothing worse than fighting to keep your page open!

  20. Bookworm says:

From the surprise me pages, I was interested in these stitches: Diamond Scale, Sea Stitch, Spiral Hexagon, Two-color brick stitch. Some of those looked like they’d be really interesting for an afghan, something that I’ve just gotten up the courage to attempt. And I’ve just started Tunisian crocheting, which I’d love to find more info on. A copy of this book would definitely be awesome.

  21. Jess says:

I would love to win a copy of this book. For the most part, I am advanced beginner. I had a friend teach me the basics and the rest I have learned on my own. My friend has since moved and I have no referance to keep on hand to learn new things. I do not know any more stiches then SC, DC, and HDC. I would love to learn how to lace trim and edge.

Thanks for your time in reading my comment

This book looks awesome! I really want to learn how to make the cable stitch. I’ve tried a few times before, but always ended up in frustration and finding an easier pattern. But that stitch looks so cool on winter items! Looking through the contents, I saw a few other stitches that I’ve never heard of before and would love to try. Sounds like a book that all levels of experience can benefit from.

  42. Britta says:

This seems to be a great book! I do crochet for a long time, but mainly the basic stitches. No one around me is able to show me any stitches like bobbles or clusters. I’ve seen so great pieces of work with those stitches, so they would be the very first to learn and use on a project I bear in mind for a long time already.

I recently discovered crochet after I managed to break my elbow (my knitting was bad before – worse now! LOL)

I’m trying to advance beyond single/double crochet & deciphering the pattern symbols, and would love to be able to create the lace effects – simple CHristmas presents if I start now for my Mum & mother-in-law!

This book looks perfect to have sitting when you attempt any project, with plenty of inspiration for new patterns & styles! Love it!

  50. Heather Cover says:

There are so many stitches I want to learn! I was unable to see a lot of specific stitches in the Amazon views, but the titles of some chapters intrigued me: Spike Stiches! Woot! Is that crochet that looks like Buffy’s love interest/nemesis? ;P Also like the idea of Relief Stitches. I’m a texture kinda girl and those sound right up my alley!
