Hi Denise, yes the longer you felt it the more solid the material will be. But it is made out of cloth, so it will be flexible!

Hi - I made a felted bowl from your pattern and like the look but wonder how I can get it to be firmer. The sides kind of colapse and it doesn't really look like a bowl! Maybe I didn't felt it long enough??
Thanks -

Thank you for you lovely tutorial! I have just made a little oatmeal coloured bowl! it is currently drying as i type! I made a few errors but I am hoping that it will still turn out well!

I felted by using a tuppaware box with hot water - ouch, that hurt my hand! But after 15 mins infront of the television shaking it about, it seems to have worked!

Hooray!

Thank you again :)

Rachel, thank you for your help. I was thinking of blocking with pins on an ironing board - I could not figure out how I was supposed to do that with a bowl. :-) I found a small tupperware bowl in my cabinet that was the perfect shape and size and used it. So far so good! I liked it so much I worked up another one tonight. :-)

Hi Leah, when I did the bowl in the picture, I balled up a plastic bag and turned the bowl over on top of it to dry. You don't have to use a plastic bag, you can use anything that can hold your bowl in the "bowl shape".

Love this pattern- so easy to follow and I love that it uses dc instead of sc. I worked it up last night with some chunky felting wool, so it came out bigger than yours. I also added a scalloped edge. I am ready to felt it now; I have felted and blocked pieces before, but they were all flat pieces. Can you please tell me how to block something that is not flat, like a bowl or a hat? Thank you so much for your help and for this pattern!
