Free Crochet Pattern: Nylon Scrubbie
| Here is a crochet pattern for a nylon scrubbie that is generously shared by Tara (a Crochet Spot reader). Thanks Tara!
I haven’t gotten the chance to make them myself just yet, but Tara tells me that they are great on pots and pans and that she uses them for just about everything. I can’t wait to go out and get some nylon netting to make these. Tara used a size H (5.00 mm) crochet hook. Here is more information from Tara about nylon netting and the crochet pattern she used to make her scrubbies: |

“1st just pick the colors of the course nylon netting. (The more colors the better) It can be bought at some Wal-Marts or at Jo-Anns, it’s on the bolts. Have it cut in 2 yards. When you get it home but it in 1 inch strips. Tie 6 strips together (I roll it into a ball) 12 yards.
ch 3, 6 sc in 1st ch don’t join continue working around circle with 2 ch in each until you reach the 2nd knot, (remember to keep knots in the back of your work) continue around with 1 sc in each around, (scrubbie should look kinda like a basket) at the last knot 1sc in every other sc to close it up. When opening is around the size of a quarter or a little bigger flip it inside out so the knots will be on the inside of scrubbie continue closing scrubbie tie off…tuck in end”

Please Help I would like to see how these nylon scrubbies are made.
Hi Becky, I don’t have pictures of the step by step process, but let me know where you are having trouble in Tara’s instructions.
I wanted to make this round scrubbie as was given some and they are great. I was so happy when I found this pattern, but it looks like there is part of it missing. It starts ch3 but wonder if there is something before this. Can you help me out with the first part of the pattern. This is the first time I am on you site and it is great.
Hi Linda, when you ch 3 and then make 6 sc in the first ch, you making a really small circle. This is how the scrubbie is started.

Phelisa, you are to make 2 single crochets in each of the single crochets that your made already.
On 2 yards, when I cut the nylon netting into 1 inch strips. Do I cut lenghtwise or across please help. Trena
Hi Trena, maybe Tara could answer your question, but I don’t think it matters too much. As long as you tie them together after you cut it it should be fine.
