My dream job? Well, as a child, I dreamed of being a writer but because I used to be shy, I didn’t pursue writing or the Literary Arts or any course related to that as a career. Instead I became a nurse. 28 years of being a nurse and 21 years as wife and mother have brought me back to crocheting, a hobby I had in my teens. I taught my two daughters how to crochet when they were in grade school but the younger one prospered in the craft. Now in her last year in college as a Business Administration student, she would like to put up her own business and guess what—crochet is among the top of her list of prospective fields to be explored! Any tips on how to put up a crochet business?

I would LOVE to crochet all day every day. I actually would like to be able to help another designer make their items to sell. I am fast and accurate but I don’t really want to own my own business. If I can’t do that from home, I would like to own/operate a shop with Yarn, Books and Dogs; my three favorite things in the world. Of course, the shop would be geared more towards crochet then knit. It is about time someone made a shop for us.

If any of you would like some help making your projects, we should talk.

Dream job…open a yarn shop that specializes in crochet instead of knitting (but knitters would be welcome). I am so tired of yarn shops that look down their nose at “happy hookers”. Sandy

My dream job is to be an author, I love to write! Sometimes I crochet things like pencil grips and cases using my own patterns and sell them to kids at my school, it’s a great way to make a few bucks!

I crochet every spare minute as I make shoes. I sell them on trademe – a NZ site similair to eBay.
It keeps me very busy and I would love to be able to give up work and do this fulltime.

I have been blessed with taking orders for my afghans. It’s not a lot of money, but it comes in handy and just at the right time. I made one for a church member andher daughter and they haves been getting orders for more. Looks like I’ll be afghaning all summer!
