 Layering pieces, such as this overskirt, are great for extending the wardrobe. Make it for your favorite tween girl to jazz up a boring skirt or a tunic and leggings. In the summer, it also makes a good coverup for a swimsuit. The skirt is crocheted in one piece from the waist down. The skirt uses an elastic cord at the waist, but you can use a drawstring instead if desired. This is best made with natural fibers, such as wool or cotton, that will allow it to drape yet can be blocked to keep its shape.
