Hi: I am trying to teach myself to crochet and with the help of the internet I am doing ok. I have a question. I made a circle placemat and it curled up so I am trying to make this simple rectangle and it is curlling on me. I don’t know what I am doing wrong. Any help would be appreciated. Claire

Hi Claire, after you crochet each row try to count the number of stitches you made. Sometimes if you accidentally add or miss some stitches it’ll make your work curl up. If you know for sure that each row has the proper number of stitches, then I’d recommend blocking the work when it’s done.
