Free Crochet Pattern: Pumpkin Coaster

Start your fall home decor by crocheting a set of these pumpkin coasters. Each coaster works up quickly in one piece, seamlessly in the round like a spiral. The pumpkin pattern can also be used as an applique or crochet a bunch of pumpkins and string them together to make a decorative garland.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 4 1/4″ (11 cm) wide, 4 3/4″ (12 cm) tall including stem

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 25 yards of orange, and small amount of green)
Crochet Hook I (5.50 mm)
Stitch marker

Gauge: Rounds 1 – 3 in pattern measures 3″ in diameter.

Crochet Pattern: Pumpkin Coaster
Round 1: with orange, ch 2, 12 dc in second ch from hook, place marker: 12 dc
Round 2: 2 dc in each dc around: 24 dc
Round 3: (2 dc in next dc, dc in next dc) around: 36 dc
Round 4: (2 hdc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc) 2 times, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc) 2 times, (2 hdc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc) 4 times, (2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc) 2 times, (2 hdc in next dc, hdc in next 2 dc) 2 times: 48 sts
Round 5: change to green, ch 6, dc in third ch from hook and in next 3 ch, skip 1 hdc, sl st in next hdc: 4 dc
Finish off.
