You can find alphabet beads in the kids’ section of your craft store. But why should kids have all the fun? I love using alphabet beads for various crafts, and since we’ve been exploring beads quite a bit here on Crochet Spot, I decided to design a bracelet that proudly proclaims to the world my love of crochet! I hope you like it as much as I do! This pattern is written to accommodate the “I LOVE CROCHET” message, but you could substitute other words.

Many of us are interested in multiple crafts. My first craft hobby was jewelry making, which I started at age 9! I loved making earrings for my friends and teachers. Ever since then, I’ve loved beads. There are many ways to make crocheted beads, but today we’ll focus upon making flat beads. Because beads are small, this can be an excellent way to use up yarn scraps, especially those of our most expensive and luxurious yarns!

Crochet Pattern: Travel Jewelry Pocket

Now that summer is almost here vacation season is upon us. My family and I do a lot of traveling all throughout the year. I love seeing historic sights, visiting the beach and hiking in the mountains. Through the years I have tried to get just a little more organized each time I pack. I try my best to think ahead and pack accordingly so that if my luggage gets thrown around I won’t have to worry. This week, since I have a trip ahead of me, I decided to crochet this jewelry pocket to protect my favorite necklace from bumps and scratches during my travels.
