Crochet Pattern: Barbie Summer Tie Top
| This top is interestingly made, yet very easy. All you have to do is make two triangles and connect them together. Maybe that sounds weird, but it works! The triangles are connected at the neck by a simple chain and the rest is just wrapped around your doll and held together with a belt. This creates the V-neck in the front and an open back. You can also sew the back or front of the top together if you like, but it’s not required to crochet this awesome summer top for Barbie! |  |

Finished Size: Fits a Barbie doll
Materials:
Size 10 Thread
Crochet Hook US 7 ( 1.5 mm)
Gauge:
11 dc= 1’’
6 rows = 1 1/4’’
Gauge Swatch: 1’’w x 1 1/4’’h (2.5cm x 3cm) ch 14.
Row 1: dc in forth ch from hook and in each ch across
Row 2 – 6: ch 3, turn, dc in each dc across
Finish off.
Crochet Pattern:
Left/Right Side (make 2)
Note this part of the pattern will make a triangle.
Row 1: ch 4, 2 dc in forth ch from hook: 2 dc
Row 2: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in each dc: 4 dc
Row 3: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 2 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 6 dc
Row 4: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 4 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 8 dc
Row 5: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 6 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 10 dc
Row 6: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 8 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 12 dc
Row 7: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 10 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 14 dc
Row 8: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 12 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 16 dc
Row 9: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 14 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 18 dc
Row 10: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 16 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 20 dc
Row 11: ch 3, turn, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 18 dc, 2 dc in next dc: 22 dc

Neck Strap
Note that the neck strap will attach the 2 triangles made above.
Start by attaching thread to the corner made by row 1 of one of the triangles.
Chain 18, slip stitch in the corner made by row 1 of the second triangle, finish off.
Belt
Row 1: ch 100, finish off.
Optional Sewing:
To wear this top, place neck strap behind neck and drape triangle pieces in front of doll. Use the belt to tie the 2 pieces around your doll.
You can also sew the edge of the front or back side together so that only one side opens. You may also choose to sew the belt on. Sew as you desire.

Thanks soooo much for sharing this pattern. I worked it and it turned out beautiful!!. However, for some reason on my doll it turned out to be long enough for a dress. I love it though. I’m going to make more of them in different colors!! Great instructions!! MORE!MORE!!

I have a doubt in the pattern and that is that you wrote in Rows 5 – 19 at the end of each row to sc in the next dc, I do believe it should of have been ” dc in the next dc”. Correct me if I’m wrong.
