| Nature is one of God’s beautiful gifts to His children, and those who know how to enjoy it are the happiest. I’m a sucker for beautiful scenery and love the chance to recreate it in an impressionistic style. The design was inspired by a lovely woodland throw given to me recently. This applique is worked in the round with a lovely technique called surface crochet for the branches. Add some leafy accents to finish it off. What will you do with your applique? For this little guy, you crochet the body row by row by creating a half circle with picots for texture. Add the head and feet to the body with simple slip stitches, and an easy embroidery technique called the French knot for the eye. It’s great fun and you just can’t go wrong choosing hedgehogs! |  |
