Crochet Pattern: Frilled Parasol Appliqué

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on March 28th, 2014 by Amy Yarbrough – 3 Comments
For some unexplainable reason, I’ve always adored umbrellas and parasols. When I was little, I received a child-sized blue umbrella complete with frills. I couldn’t wait for rainy day after that. Today I find it very interesting when going out in the rain the many styles and colors of umbrellas you will see. This interest inspired this weeks pattern. It’s basic and fun to make. Make sure and tell me what you will do with yours! Parasol

This wristband is a good project for Tunisian crocheters who want to expand their skills a little more. The simple eyelet pattern uses basic stitches with no shaping to keep track of. The band is worked flat and requires a small amount of seaming to finish.

The cotton pads you find in the store are great for using with facial cleansers. But if you want to be a little more friendly to the environment or you just don’t want to have to keep buying more, crocheting them may be the way to go. Make a stack in as may colors as you like and toss them in with the laundry when you’re done with them. crochet_facial_pad

Crochet Pattern: Double Layer Flower

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on March 1st, 2014 by Candace – 2 Comments
Around here, winter feels like it’s here to stay, but crocheting colorful flowers until the real ones bloom helps keep my hopes up. This one is worked in a spiral of sorts with two layers of four petals. It makes a nice barrette, pin, or button; or you could use it to add a little pop to another project. crochet_double_layer_flower

Crochet Pattern: Made with Love Earrings

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on February 22nd, 2014 by Laurie Beranek – Be the first to comment
In addition to teaching crochet classes, I teach jewelry classes. I love teaching both, so I decided to incorporate both into my design. Show someone you love them with this quick and easy pattern. It only takes a few yards of yarn and you can make it with any color or type of yarn. Not into earrings? It would also make a great pin, just sew or glue on a pin back. I love the “made with love” charm, but you can leave off the charm or add a different charm that has special meaning to you or the recipient. Made With Love Earrings

Crochet Pattern: Tiffany’s Necklace

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on February 12th, 2014 by Laurie Beranek – 4 Comments
This necklace was inspired by my niece Tiffany. She made a chain scarf that came out really cute. I don’t wear scarfs much since I live in Arizona and it’s just to0 warm to wear scarves except for a month or two in the winter. So, I decided to make a chain necklace in lieu of a scarf. I added the button to hide the knot and for some sparkle. You can make the necklace longer or shorter or make it into a scarf by changing the number of chains. It is a wonderful way to use up your stash of yarn. It’s so quick and easy to make that you can make one to match all your outfits or to give as gifts. Tiffany Necklace
