New Charity Page

Posted in News on March 1st, 2009 by Rachel Choi – 1 Comment

Joining the crochet community really inspired me to want to crochet for charity and encourage others to do the same. I put together a page that has links to several charities that accept crocheted donations. Check out the new Charity Page.

I do realize that there are so many charities out there that accept crocheted donations, so if there is a charity that you know that is not on the list, please share it with everyone by emailing me at [email protected] or by leaving a comment on this post.

By crocheting for charity we can make the world a better place. If you already crochet for charity, thank you so much for helping those in need, you have truly done something phenomenal. Keep up the great work! If you have yet to explore the crochet for charity realm, no worries, just take a look at the list of charities and choose one that suits your crocheted creations. If we all donate just a little bit of what we make, we will make the world a better place one crocheted item at a time!

Crochet Cardholders for Mr. Credit Card

Posted in News on February 26th, 2009 by Rachel Choi – 2 Comments

After making the cardholder crochet pattern last week, a friend of mine over at AskMrCreditCard.com asked me to make a few for him to give away to his blog readers. Here are the ten crocheted cardholders that I made!

Mr. Credit Card will be giving them away to new subscribers on his blog. So check it out! As a professional financial advisor, he’s a great source for credit card info. Just ask him any question and he’ll answer it with the brutal truth!

Cardholders are very fast and easy to crochet. I sure had a blast making these!

Crochetville: The Largest Crochet Forum

Posted in News on February 11th, 2009 by Rachel Choi – 4 Comments

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of joining the largest crochet forum on the internet: Crochetville. I expected everyone to be nice, but they definitely exceeded my expectations with warmer than warm welcomes.

I even met some amazing people in the crochet world. One very admirable woman made over 350 blankets and gave then all away to charity! This is so amazing to me since I don’t even have the patience to complete one. Crochetville is a great place to find others crocheting for charity and has inspired me to want to join in as well.

Crochetvillers are some of the most supportive people that I have ever met. They share crochet patterns and help each other when in need. This is a great place for any crocheter to be, amateur or pro.

As a member of Crochetville for only one day, this is what I discovered and I can’t wait to see what lies ahead.

Welcome to Crochet Spot!

Posted in News on January 29th, 2009 by Rachel Choi – 2 Comments

Greetings fellow crocheters, I am Rachel the crochet enthusiast.  Here at Crochet Spot I will share all of my very own crochet patterns, tips, ideas and things that I learn on the way.

Crochet Spot will soon be filled with plenty of crochet patterns including everything from stuffed animals, household accessories, clothing and afghans.  If there’s a crochet pattern you are looking for, Crochet Spot will definitely be the spot to look.  If you would like to share your crochet patterns or ideas with others, Crochet Spot is just the place to do so.

One of the most important aspects of Crochet Spot is to make crocheting easy to learn for beginners by providing tutorials, guides and detailed patterns.  I remember my frustration when I didn’t understand crochet lingo, therefore, I would love to make it easier for others to learn.

I welcome you to Crochet Spot, the place to be hooked on crocheting!
