Very pretty. Would this work with regular yarn? Or would it be too bulky under the arms?

I can’t believe it! I’ve been working on this for weeks! I’ve been using a bamboo thread (that I’m so in love with!) and a 1.75mm hook. It has a double crochet foundation and it’s going to be 16″x60″. I’m thinking about placing fine buttons all along the long edge so that it can be buttoned as a shrug or left open. One thing for sure is that the bamboo thread ought to be worn against the skin. Fantastic!

hi rachel, i love the fact that this is convertible! i’m sure i’ve seen a lot that were made like this but no one thought or bothered to convert it to a scarf. very cool!

bamboo yarn is so nice, and i’ve only been crocheting the past couple of years and hadn’t thought to look for bamboo thread. what a great pattern…i will try to buy one from you soon. and i’m looking forward to seeing the rest of your designs.

Rachel, I just finished making mine this past weekend, and it looks so cute! I’m going to a wedding next month, and thought to bring it just in case the church or reception hall is too cold. I’m purposely going to find a dress with a small amount of white in it so it will match. 🙂 My neighbor loved it so much she wants me to make some for her 4 girls! I’m going to shorten them to short sleeves or 3/4 sleeves for them so it won’t take me so long (yikes)
Thanks for the great pattern! Can’t wait to see what other clothing items you come up with in the future!

    Hi Rachel (or anyone),

I bought this pattern and am dying to make it. This is the first time that I have worked with crochet thread. The thread is tricky for me but I am giving it a go. One question … it is hard to tell any detail from the photos, but is the 0 hook (2.55mm) intended to be a fairly loose stitch for this thread? Gauge has always been something that has alluded me and this is the first piece I’ve attempted where the yarn/thread and recommended hook size are so far apart.

    Thanks in advance!

Hi Allison, yes, the 0 hook does give a looser stitch. This helps the item work up a little faster and gives it a better drape. Let me know if you have other questions!
