Crochet Pattern: Cupster

What is a cupster, exactly? It’s simply a coaster with a lip that cups the bottom of your glass. One benefit of a cupster is that if it fits snugly on the glass, the cupster will stay with it, and you don’t have to worry about making sure your coaster is wherever you set the glass down. crochet_cupster

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 3″ (7.5 cm) diameter, 1″ (2.5 cm) tall

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 25 yards)
Crochet Hook G (4.0 mm)
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge:
Rounds 1-3 measure 2 1/4″ (5.5 cm) in diameter

Crochet Pattern: Cupster
Round 1: make adjustable ring, ch 2, 9 hdc in ring, sl st in first hdc: 9 hdc
Round 2: ch 2, 2 hdc in each hdc around, sl st in in first hdc: 18 hdc
Round 3: ch 2, (2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next hdc) around, sl st in first hdc: 27 hdc
Round 4: ch 2, (2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in next 2 hdc) around, sl st in first hdc: 36 hdc
Round 5: ch 3, bpdc in each hdc around, sl st in first dc: 36 hdc
Round 6: ch 3, dc in each dc around, sl st in first dc: 36 dc
Finish off.
