Crochet Pattern: Squircle Earrings

Squircle–it’s a square and a circle. These earrings are simple to crochet and interesting to look at. You can choose to dangle one from each ear or make a chain of them for a series of squircles. crochet_squircle_earrings

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 1 1/4″ (3 cm) wide, 1 1/4″ (3 cm) tall

Materials:
Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 5 yards)
Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm)
Earwires
crochet yarn size 2

Gauge:
Finished earring measures 1 1/4″ (3 cm) square

Crochet Pattern: Squircle Earrings
Round 1: make adjustable ring, 12 sc in ring, sl st in first sc: 12 sc
Round 2: (ch 5, skip 3 sc, sl st in next sc) around: 24 sts
Round 3: (sc in next 2 ch, 3 sc in next ch, sc in next 3 sts) around: 32 sc
Finish off. Attach earwires.

    Thanks so much for this pattern. I am confused by round two, though. If you skip 3 SCs and sl st into the next SC, and repeat around, then I don’t understand how you end up in the right spot or with 24 stitches?
