Take a look at the commercial and let me know what you think of the giant yarn balls at the end!!

I bet you want a giant yarn ball now too?!

The problem is, I don’t think Target sells yarn, so no giant balls (of yarn) for us! At least not from them!

  2. Jasmin says:

Heheh I sure do want one!!

  3. Beth says:

Kinda resembles a “field of dreams” for us yarnaholics!

  4. Angie says:

“field of dreams” love it, Beth! I do want one….except where would I put it???? 🙂

  5. Cyndie D Richards says:

Not a fan of plaid, but love the yarn balls. Don’t some of them look like tee-shirt yarn … Tarn?

  6. Jasmin says:

Oh ya! It does look like T-yarn Cindie 🙂

  7. Jasmin says:

Whoops I meant to say Cyndie, sorry about that.

    Tami
You are right Target doesn’t sell yarn…I have tried to buy it there…I could never understand why they don’t…

  9. Tami says:

I’m still trying to figure out how/why Walmart’s yarn selection comes up so short. They cut things back so far, and then you don’t have any choice but to go to another store. I can say without any exaggeration that I have more yarn in my stash than Walmart (in Potsdam NY) has in their store.

I would love to have those big bals of yarn, but where in the world would I keep them?

  11. DCMerkle says:

I don’t know about you, but I know a few cats that would lose their minds over a ball of yarn like that!!!

Walmart is technically out of the yarn and fabric business in most areas from what I understand (MA). They are leaving it up to others i.e. Michaels etc. Target has really captured our attention haven’t they?!!!Goodness gracious great balls of yarn. Can enough consumers make a product demand?

  13. Tx Grammy says:

Thats why Target doesnt have yarn anymore – they took all the yarn and made big balls out of it!

  14. Caroline says:

I want the crochet hook that goes with those balls of yarn – I’d stand it in my front yard, with crocheted bunting all around!

  15. Karen Carroll says:

Call your local WalMart store and tell them you want the yarn put back in the stores, or if they still have some, tell them NOT to get rid of the yarn. I live in a small town and talked to the local manager and he said if WalMart got enough phone calls, they would end up keeping it. I got another Walmart to put back their benches in their stores and I don’t even live in that town. They are trying to have a good reputation with their customers, but need enough customers to call in about it. So get everyone you know, even if they don’t use yarn, to call about it. Or someday all it will be is a grocery store. Karen

I guess you wouldn’t have to worry about running out of yarn in the middle of a project,eh???

  17. Cami says:

I love those balls of yarn. I would use them to hand-crochet a large blanket in single crochet!

  18. Lizzie says:

I wonder it those big balls are really yarn. Is the TV program still on where they show: How did they do that?

  19. Erin says:

Good to know that I am not the only one suffering from yarn envy. Oh the things I could make!

  20. Laura says:

Once I did buy yarn at target. Superfine fingering weight mohair in pink, yellow, and green. Oh it was beautiful- and it was in the dollar spot! Of course there wasn’t very much, so I still haven’t used it. It was really nice yarn though. My Wal-Mart (VA) has far too much red heart, but just recently they started carrying Lion Brand Home Town and Caron Simply Soft. They also have cotton and crochet thread. I think we even have Bernat baby yarn. We even have Crochet Today magazine! I know it’s still only one aisle of crafts, but it is certainly an improvement over what we had.

Hahaha, Tami !! “I can say without any exaggeration that I have more yarn in my stash than Walmart (in Potsdam NY) has in their store.” 😀

  22. Beverly says:

Hey, I don’t care if Target has them or not. WHEREVER they are…sign me up for the surprise package when they come in. I want one too.

  23. Target sold yarn when K-Mart sold yarn 15 or more years ago. They never had more than the standard acrylic that I can remember but everyone phased out yarn except for Wal-Mart.

I’m thinking it was no great loss in the long run. It forced me to look into buying better quality yarns.

I don’t even know what I’d do with it 🙂 I find myself thinking of how my mom would react if I brought one of those home. She already gets annoyed with the little skeins I bring home. One of those babies and I’d probably be kicked out.

  25. Diane H. Menga says:

Hi, I really would like to find a ball of yarn that big to but I think it’s just a ploy to get you to their yarn department.

  26. corliss says:

@ Karen , good idea to call Walmart. They haven’t gotten rid of all the yarn where I am yet but they have very little. I really don’t want to spend an arm and leg for Red Heart Classic . They do have the Bernat and I love that …. Thanks everyone for interesting conversation ….. Happy crocheting …..

  27. Amber says:

Have you seen the commercials for the new video game Kirby’s Epic Yarn? Well He is made out of yarn and he can turn into anything. You should check it out!!

  28. Sammy says:

wow………. I saw this commercial well me and my mom were watching the Duggers, i looked at my mom and said ” Mom think of all the project i could make with ONE ball of that yarn!” of course my mom doesn’t know how to crochet so she doesn’t undertsand when a crocheter runs out of yarn in the middle of a project, anyway i would like to know if it was real yarn and if they sold it haha i would be first in line!

  29. Elizabeth says:

whats with all the yarn anyway? lol. i want to go to a field of yarn! 😛
