Update on Hooded Scarf (3 sizes) Crochet Pattern

By Rachel Choi – 15 Comments
I just wanted to write this quick note to let you know that I updated the Crochet Pattern: Hooded Scarf (3 sizes). There was a mistyping at the beginning of the pattern. So if you purchased or downloaded the pattern before today (9/14/2010) feel free to log into your Crochet Spot Store account and download the new version (free of charge of course).

To download the new version, just login and download the pattern the same way you normally would. Go to “My Purchased Patterns” for non-members. For Premium Pattern Members, just scroll down to the pattern and click “Download Pattern”.

Sorry for any confusion in the pattern that the mistyping may have caused. Big thanks to the reader who caught my mistake! If you have any questions about the pattern, always feel free to ask me!

    The hooded scarf is beautiful!
I wanted to lyk that I blogged about your ‘hipster doily’ today. I’m making one in a larger stitch with orange cotton yarn. I’m going to put a pumpkin on top of it. It’s a great pattern and I’ll be making it again! Thanks for sharing it!

I have a crochet pattern that I found in one of my crochet pattern magazines from a while back, don’t remember which one it was, which had the “Hooded Scarf” pattern written by Elizabeth A. White. I have tried and tried to do this and it doesn’t work and I had an expert crocheter try and she says something is wrong with the pattern and she has not been able to figure it out either. Could this be the same pattern that you are talking about? I would like to get a copy of the corrected pattern as I think it will be pretty by looking at what I have done with it so far which is at the half way stumbling point.
    Thank you.

    Hi Rachel,
I’m having a problem with the dc3tog…I can’t seem to figure out how to do that. I followed the directions on the front page but I’m still struggling!! Can you help? Please?! Thanks so much!

    • Rachel says:

Hi Marie, here is a picture tutorial on how to do double crochet decreases: How to Crochet: Double Crochet Decrease

The exact steps in the pics show a dc2tog, but if you read the instructions in step 12, it’ll tell you to repeat steps 7 – 12 for a decrease over more than 2 stitches. So for the dc3tog, you would do steps 1 – 12 in the tutorial then repeat steps 7-12 one more time, and finish with the last steps 13 – 14.

Let me know if you need more help.

    Hi Rachel,

I bought this pattern off of Etsy on the 16th. Is that copy updated?

    • Rachel says:

Yes, the update started on the 14th. And if anyone else was wondering, anyone who purchased before the 14th from my Etsy store received the new copy via email.
