Crochet Pattern: Cat Scrubbie

Add some fun to bath time with this scrubbie made for cat lovers with small hands. The small size also makes it great for scrubbing the corners of dishes or cleaning other small items. Crochet a bunch of these little cat scrubbies in a different colors to make a set.

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 4″ (10 cm) wide, 4 1/2″ (11.5 cm) tall

Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 15 yards)
Scrap yarn for eyes and face
Crochet Hook J (6.0 mm)

5 dc = 2″ (5 cm)
3 rows = 2″ (5 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Cat Scrubbie
Row 1: Ch 12, dc in 4th ch from hook, 2 dc in next ch, dc in next 5 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last dc, turn: 11 dc
Row 2: Ch 3, dc in first dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in next 7 dc, 2 dc in next dc, dc in last dc, turn: 13 dc
Row 3: Ch 3, dc in first dc, dc2tog, dc in next 7 dc, dc2tog, dc in last dc, turn : 11 dc
Rows 4 – 6: Ch 3, dc in each dc across, turn
Row 7: Ch 4, tr3tog, finish off.
Attach yarn to beginning of row 6, ch 4, tr3tog, finish off.

Using photo as a guide embroider face to scrubbie.

    About the Cat Scrubbie… I don’t understand in Row 1 how I can dc in next 5 dc and then 2 dc in next dc… All I have is a chain of 12. no dc’s yet.
