Crochet Pattern: Lipstick Smile Applique

Aside from decorating accessories and household items, this smiling applique would also make a cheerful gift tag.

While this particular applique is small, it presents a challenge, requiring you to crochet into the sides of stitches as well as into the bottom of the starting chain.

The Cora earrings are a great choice for crocheters who like size when it comes to their earrings. Light in weight with an open pattern, they’re earrings you can enjoy wearing and looking at. For a more dramatic effect, you can add beaded dangles. crochet_cora_earrings

Crochet Pattern: Keep Calm Crown Applique

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 6th, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 14 Comments
There are lots of “Keep Calm and…” sayings going around about many different subjects. I was inspired by the crown and set out to make my own version. The first try was sketchy, so I made some changes. Initially I used thread, and it was straining on the eyes, but when I was finally satisfied, I tried it out in worsted weight and thought it looked a whole lot clearer. So try it in your favourite yarn and tell me what you think! "Keep Calm" Crown Appliqué

Crochet Pattern: Lace Cuff

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 3rd, 2013 by Candace – 2 Comments
Crocheted cuffs are a great accessory for any season. Made, with cooler fibers, they can just be jewelry or function as pretty sweat bands. With warmer fibers, they add a little more warmth and can cover that gap between sleeve and gloves. The lace pattern is easy to adjust for larger or smaller wrists. crochet_lace_cuff

Crochet Pattern: Beaded Bangles

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on August 1st, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 14 Comments
Essentially, this is a pattern for covering a bracelet with crochet. I used parts from an automotive (my Dad’s a mechanic) but you can use a plain bracelet from the craft store. The stitch count my vary, especially if you choose a band that is smaller in diameter than mine, but the basic idea is to single crochet around the band until you are satisfied, adding your choice of beads at even intervals. Have fun! Beaded Bangles

Crochet Pattern: Enchanting Phone Cover

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on July 13th, 2013 by Amy Yarbrough – 22 Comments
After many different tries I am finally proud to present my very first phone cover! The 1st try worked but I found that I had neglected to take into account the camera, USB outlet, and earphone jack. The 2nd try was better but it covered the touch-sensitive buttons at the bottom. This latest one has it all. Try it out and tell me what you think! Enchanting Phone Cover
