Crochet Pattern: Frilly Baby Booties

By Candace – 13 Comments
The only thing cuter than a happy baby is a happy baby in a pair of cute booties. These will keep the lucky infant’s tootsies warm with a dash of feminine style. Contrasting colors and a ruffled edging makes these booties hard to miss. The symmetrical shape makes them identical and eliminates the hassle of figuring out which bootie goes on which foot. I find that booties are the hardest things to crochet and I have been crocheting and knitting for years. I think it might be a mental block as I have managed almost everything else.
I will let you know how I go.
    Thank you for the pattern.
    Regards Barbara.

    Hi,
Is it okay to use medium weight yarn.

Candice, I’m taught by someone who was self taught and I’m stuck right at the beginning. I’m not sure how to crochet in front loop or back loop. I looked it up on YouTube, but I’m still confused. Please help! I really want to do this. 🙂

I am so happy to see that I am not the only one who thinks baby booties are one of the most difficult things to crochet. I am between beginner and intermediate in skill level and can’t tell you how many times I rip them out and try to start over. After my third attempt, I usually abandon the pattern and just stop crocheting altogether fo awhile. It’s frustrating.

I did just want to say thank you to all of those kind folks who supply us with free crochet patterns and especially to the ones who explain those little snags we come to from time to time.
