Dainty hair accessories can be just what you need to finish off an outfit or enliven a hairstyle, and flowers are a classic choice for the job. Make it lacy, and you up the ante. Glue or sew it to a barette base or a bobby pin and dress up your ‘do. Feel free to crochet the flower in multiple colors for a different look! crochet_lace_flower_barrette

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 3″ (7.5 cm) diameter

Materials:
Fine Weight Yarn (approximately 15 yards )
Crochet Hook G (4.25 mm)
crochet yarn size 2

Gauge:
Rounds 1 – 5 in pattern measure 3″ (7.5 cm) in diameter

Special Stitches
picot – (ch 3, sl st in third ch from hook)

Crochet Pattern: Lace Flower Barrette
Round 1: Make adjustable ring, ch 2, 6 sc in ring, sl st in first sc: 6 sc
Round 2: ch 1, 2 sc in each sc around, sl st in first sc: 12 sc
Round 3: (ch 6, skip 1 sc, sl st in next sc) 6 times: 42 sts
Round 4: ch 1, (2 sc, ch 3, sc, ch 3, 2 sc) in each ch-space around: 66 sts
Round 5: ch 1, (sl st in next 2 sc, 3 sc in next ch-space, sc in next sc, picot, 3 sc in next ch-space, sl st in next 2 sc) 6 times: 66 sts
Finish off.
