I’m a Newbee to your website but an oldie crochet addict. I will make this lanyard for myself in some girly color to wear to work. I used to frequent another website called Patterns by Dot. She had terrific patterns but is not posting any more. I miss her. Thanks for sharing.

My daughter works in a pediatric hospital and I am making this for her in different colors and embellishing them with little motifs like flowers, footballs, owls, pumpkins etc. She said not only her co workers but the kids seem to really enjoy seeing them and it brightens up her drab scrubs.

I made it in just a little while one evening – not bad for a newbie. It’s great – BUT I allowed it to twist in the original loop. Dang. It looks great but is not flat. It has a twist. Any suggestions on avoiding the twist next time around?

Hi Martha, I’m glad you made it! Making sure it doesn’t twist is tricky, even for me! When I’m working with a long chain, I end up running my hand through it a few times to untwist it. Even after I join the chain to make the loop I check and double check it before I go on. Sounds tedious, but always worth it in the end 🙂

  6. I just found your site. And I am going to make myself a lanyard tonight. I always use a lanyard of some type for my keys, but I never thought of making my own. DOH!!!! Now–what color to use…..
