Crochet Pattern: S-Curve Barrette

The pattern for this abstract barrette is simple yet complicated. The pattern takes basic stitches and uses them to create an interesting shape. Experienced crocheters may enjoy playing around with this neat, little accessory. crochet_s-curve_barrette

Skill Level: intermediate

Finished Size: 1 1/2″ (4 cm) long, 1″ (2.5 cm) wide

Materials:
Number 5 Thread (approximately 2 yards of each color)
Crochet Hook B (2.25 mm)
Barette Base
yarn size 0

Gauge:
Row 1 -5 in pattern measures 1 1/2″ (4 cm) long by 1″ (2.5 cm) wide

Crochet Pattern: S-Curve Barrette
Row 1: Make an adjustable ring, ch 2, 4 hdc in ring: 4 hdc
Row 2: ch 2, turn, 2 hdc in each hdc across: 8 hdc
Row 3: ch 10, starting in third ch from hook, hdc2tog 4 times: 4 hdc
Row 4: ch 2, turn, hdc4tog: 1 hdc
Row 5:change colors, starting at the beginning of row 2, ch 3, 3 dc in each hdc in row 2 and the bottom of each ch in row 3: 48 dc
Finish off, attach to barrette base.
