|Here is a quick yet dainty change purse! Make it is as a gift or just for yourself. Since this is a small project not much yarn is needed. The change purse is large enough to fit dollar bills when they are folded in half and also credit cards. Feel free to attach a key ring for additional functionality if desired.|
Finished Size: 4 1/4″ (11 cm) wide, 3″ (8 cm) tall
Medium Weight Yarn (small amount of main and contrasting color)
Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm)
12 sc = 3’’
9 rows = 2’’
Gauge Swatch: 3’’w x 2’’h (7.5cm x 5cm) ch 13.
Row 1: sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across: 12 sc
Row 2 – 9: ch 1, turn, sc in each sc across: 12 sc
Crochet Pattern: Change Purse
Round 1: with main color, ch 19, sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across, working into remaining loops on opposite side of ch, sc in each ch across, place marker: 36 sc
Round 2 – 14: sc in each sc around: 36 sc
Round 15: sc in each sc around, sl st in next sc, changing to contrasting color: 36 sc
Flap begins here:
Row 16: ch 1, turn, sc in next 18 sc: 18 sc
Row 17: ch 2, turn, dc in each sc across: 18 dc
Row 18: turn, (ch 4, skip 2 dc, sl st in next dc): 6 times
Row 19: ch 1, turn, 2 sc in first ch-4 space, (ch 4, sc in next ch-4 space) 4 times, ch 4, 2 sc in last ch-4 space, finish off.
Round 1: ch 2, 6 sc in second ch from hook: 6 sc
Round 2 – 3: 6 sc in same ch (overlapping previous round): 6 sc
Align button with button hole and attach to purse.
