It’s My Birthday, Let’s Celebrate!

Posted in Fun Ramblings, News on July 1st, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 20 Comments

Yup, that’s right! I’m getting older as I type this. But with age, comes another year well lived and lots of crochet projects checked off the to-do list. Although I do not have any extravagant plans, and will probably go about my day as usual, I think this year I’ll celebrate by wearing my birthday cake hat around the house. It will give me much joy to watch my dogs tilt their heads at me and give me goofy looks. My cats may even try and swat at the candles. Best of all, it will remind my family that it’s my birthday and they have to make dinner and clean the dishes instead of me!

An Honest Review of the Yarnit

Posted in Fun Ramblings, News on June 2nd, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 12 Comments

Is that a magical, crystal ball with yarn I see?? No, it’s the Yarnit! It’s a nifty, new gadget for holding your yarn while you crochet (or knit). The yarn sits inside the globe so that it doesn’t roll around on the floor or get dirty. You can use it at home, but it’s also great for folks who like to travel with their projects. Is the Yarnit for you? With any item there are always pros and cons, and in this review I’ll share with you my honest opinion.

Tips and Fun from Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival 2016

Posted in Fun Ramblings on May 31st, 2016 by Candace – Be the first to comment

Who loves fiber festivals? I do! And if you haven’t been to one yet, I wholeheartedly recommend looking up ones near you and going. This year, I was fortunate to be able to make it down to Maryland for the annual Maryland Sheep and Wool Festival, and between festival itself and time I got to spend with friends, I had a ball! As with any event, it’s more fun when you keep some things in mind.

What’s Your Favorite Color Combos?

Posted in Fun Ramblings on May 12th, 2016 by Rachel Choi – 19 Comments

Have you ever started a multi-colored crochet project and realized that your color combo doesn’t look good at all? I certainly have! Even as a crochet designer I sometimes find it hard to choose great color combinations for my projects. Not all of my ideas turn out the way I think they will. Sometimes I create a fabulous color combo and sometimes it’s a flop (hey, I’m only human).
