Crochet Pattern: Bracelet Favor Bag

By Claire Ortega-Reyes – 16 Comments
Wouldn’t it be great if party favors came in something guests can use over and over again? This little favor bag has straps that can be worn over the user’s wrist, leaving his or her hands free for other things.

Crocheted using worsted yarn and an H hook, this little bag is finished in just 11 rounds. This bag is very basic–add your favorite embellishments to make it unique! Adding a crocheted brooch for example, adds to the design and also doubles as an additional giveaway.

Skill Level: crochet skill level easy

Finished Size: 4″ wide x 4.5″ tall, excluding straps

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn
Crochet Hook H (5.00 mm)
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge: 8 sc stitches x 8 sc rows = 2″

Very cute! What a nice idea. Maybe another way to use up some of those remnants too small for use in a larger project.

Could this little bag be any cuter? I used Caron Simply Soft and chained 20 instead of 30 for the handles to make a mini tote bag/purse. Think I will finish it with pretty button and crochet a loop closure between the handles. My daughter is getting married in Nov. and this would make a cute shower favor with a lip gloss or other girly trinket inside. I’m not sure that I am making the magic ring correctly and would like a clearer picture or more steps after the pull up a loop step. A mini flower would be cute attached to the bag. Thanks Rachel!

I made 25 little favor tote bags with shorter handles for my daughters bridal shower and loaded them with tissue and anti-bacterial hand gel or mini note cards. As an accent I pinned a small baby barrette on the front. Tthe ladies loved them. Sorry, no photos.

  13. Rebekah says:

On the last round, do I single crochet in the straps or just the rim of the bag itself?

    • Rachel says:

Hi Rebekah, it looks like you’re suppose to sl st in both the straps and the sides of the bag. So you’ll be working around the entire bag and going over both of the straps.

Thanks for the pattern. Just what I was looking for and I learned something new. The magic circle. Great. I’ve been crocheting for 40 years and this is new to me.
