Crochet Pattern: Heart Pendant

By Candace – 14 Comments
You could wear your heart on your sleeve–or you could dangle it from you neck, which is slightly more anatomically correct. If you’d rather not loop a chain through the bail, you can make the final chain long enough to fit around your neck instead. The pendant can also be stiffened with starch. crochet_heart_pendant

Hi! Nice pattern. I have been making heart necklaces for 1st graders. I wanted something really fast. Didn’t need to be a good job just quick. Sooo. I used worsted weight and a J hook.
    Leave long tail
Ch 3, sl st to join,
Ch 2, 9 hdc in ring, join with sl st to beg ch2
Ch3, 2trc in same stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch, 1hdc and 1 dc in next stitch, 1 trc, picot ( = ch3, sl st to beg ch), trc in next stitch, 1dc and 1 hdc in next stitch, 2 hdc in next stitch, 2 dc in next stitch, 2 trc and 1 dc in next stitch , sl st to beg chain.
Finish off leaving long tail. Draw beginning tail thru ending stitch.
Tie both tails to necklace length.

It’s not as fine/pretty as yours but works in 2 rounds and very quick.

THANKS for another FAB crochet pattern. I’ve crocheted many heart necklaces for gifts for several grandnieces in the past few years. But this one is smaller & I like the pale pink yarn. However, I do NOT own a hook B, so I may use the smallest — it’s a ‘C.’ Sarah Helene in Minneapolis, MN

i’m just learning to crochet. i’ve made a few things but this is my first time trying to read a pattern on my own. i think i have the magic loop, ch 2, 6 dhc right but i’m confused on the next part. when i slip into the original ch 2 where do the next 6 dhc go?

      Hello.

I think you’re misunderstanding the pattern format. The text after the colon is the stitch count. Hope that helps.
