Crochet Pattern: Round Makeup Case

Made to go in a purse, this makeup case holds a few essentials, like mascara and lipstick, separate from the rest of the items in your bag for when you want them to be easy to find. It’s made all in one piece with a lengthwise slit and a button closure. crochet_round_makeup_case

Skill Level:

Finished Size: 6″ (15 cm) long, 1 1/2″ (4 cm) diameter

Materials:
Medium Weight Yarn (approximately 30 yards)
Crochet Hook H (5.0 mm)
Button (about 1/2″ [1.5 cm])
Sewing needle and thread
crochet yarn size 4

Gauge:
16 hdc = 4 1/2″ (11.5 cm)
9 rows = 3″ (7.5 cm)

Crochet Pattern: Name of pattern goes here
Round 1: make adjustable ring, ch 2, 8 hdc in ring, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 8 hdc
Round 2: ch 2, 2 hdc in each hdc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 16 hdc
Round 3: ch 2, fphdc in each hdc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 16 hdc
The following instructions will be worked in rows.
Rows 4-10: ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, turn
Row 11: ch 6, hdc in each hdc around, turn: 16 hdc
Rows 12-18: ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, turn
The following instructions will be worked in the round.
Round 19: ch 2, hdc in each hdc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 16 hdc
Round 20: ch 2, fphdc in each hdc around, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 16 hdc
Round 21: ch 2, hdc2tog 8 times, sl st in top of beginning ch-2: 8 hdc
Weave tail through the top of the last round and pull closed. Finish off. Align button with button hole and sew the button to the case.

    Hi, I’m just preparing to make this right now so I’m reviewing your pattern. In rows 4-10 and 12-18, you mean, there’s no need to slip stitch at the end of each row so the absence of the slip stitch will provide the opening of the case. Am I imagining things right as I look at the photo of your product?
