My favorite jacket and coat share several things in common, but the most inconvenient similarity is the lack of a hood, so accessories become a necessity. A hooded cowl is an easy alternative to a hat and scarf when it’s time to face cooler weather. This open shell patterned cowl is easy to customize. It is crocheted from the bottom up, all in one piece. |

Anything but square and deceptively simple, Cuadrada is a lace earring pattern perfect for intermediate crocheters or advanced beginners who want instant gratification. Whether they are hung from the side or the corner, they make a tastefully noticeable accessory. |

When I was little the items of doll clothes I lost the most were socks and shoes. I never seemed to be able to keep them with the rest of the clothes. Of course, some little girls don’t care much for putting socks and shoes on their dolls. But I’ve always had a love for shoes so it annoyed me to lose them. Well, despite whether she loses them or not, crochet these for a little girl and see if she doesn’t think you’re the best! |

There’s a new crochet pattern in the Crochet Spot Store! Transitional weather calls for cool accessories like skinny scarves – enough to keep you warm without making you hot. The mixture of taller stitches and shorter ones give the edges a gentle lettuce effect. This scarf works up quickly, and the ruffled sections can be done while watching TV. The cabled diamonds require a knowledge of tall stitches and a few other tricks. |

I love crochet thread earrings (and other jewelry for that matter), and these are no different. They are very light in weight, but for a little more heft, you can add beads either in pattern or dangling as an afterthought. |

Ruffles can be a lot of fun! They are great to add to the bottom of a sweater, a hat, or even as a floofy fringe alternative on the ends or sides of a scarf! There are hundreds of ways to crochet ruffles, but we’re going to learn just one here. Excitingly, this version uses both the classic double crochet and the long, slim triple crochet!

Our ruffle relaxing. I could see this at the bottom of a skirt.

Our ruffle letting loose. I could see this on the side of a scarf.
As you can see, this is a versatile ruffle that can be used in different ways for different looks. For the purpose of practicing this skill, we’ll make a swatch in this tutorial. Yarn and hook size don’t matter for this practice swatch.

My little sister has a stuffed bear collection that she just adores. But like every little girl she also has a baby doll. She often begs me to crochet clothing for her doll, so I decided to pull this project out of the hat. She’s pleased with it but I think she would have been happier if it had been pink!
This project is quick and easy, and will make a wonderful gift for any little girl! |

There’s a new pattern in the Crochet Spot Store! Crochet this cute penguin for any penguin lover, whether a child or an adult. You can even crochet a bunch of penguins to make an entire family! The penguin pattern is crocheted with the head and main body as one piece. Then the smaller parts are crocheted separately and sewn on. The main pieces are crocheted seamlessly in the round like a spiral with single crochet stitches.

Miniature accessories are very versatile. They can be used with figurines, dolls, as embellishments, or as accessories for you. I can see this mini hat as a cute keychain, charm, or barrette, but its uses are only limited by your imagination. Where will you put yours? |
