New in the Crochet Spot Store, this pattern is for a simple cat bed that can be styled in 4 different ways! Try all the different styles and let your kitty choose which ones he/she likes the best. The cat is crocheted with super bulky weight yarn making the project quick to work up and thick and sturdy for your furry friend. The bed is also design so that it can easier be slipped into the washing machine just in case it needs cleaning (be sure to choose a machine washable yarn).

This is a project idea for a unique and special scarf that’s also pretty uncomplicated. Stripes of different widths create a message that the savvy reader can decode. The idea is pretty simple; beginners as well as more advanced crocheters should be able to create their own message scarves with names and phrases on them.

I have finally done it! I have cleaned my nemesis of a room. Well, there is one really high shelf to go with boxes of wool. My craft room now has a floor – who knew? It also has lovely windows to look out. It has a cutting table and I can identify the sewing machines. It has taken me 2 weeks, from 8AM until about 3PM, 5 days a week. My ever helpful 21 year old suggested about half way through, just after my “I’ve had enough†rant, that I should just shove it all back in there. That’s how it got to be a disaster in the first place.

View from 1 of my uncovered 2 6ft x 4ft windows looking out to our rather dry block of land

I love to go for walks on fall evenings. Since the temperature has been dropping briskly, I like to have a little something around my neck to keep me toasty. I hate to pull out the full fledge scarf this time of year, so I decided a neck warmer would do just the trick. This project is so simple! Depending on the type of yarn you use, it can look dressy for a night out or it can be quite practical while you’re getting down and dirty winterizing. Not only do I love this pattern, but it even looks cute on my 3 year old daughter! |

Have you ever wanted to make a blanket with a particular picture, logo, or symbol on it but couldn’t find a pattern for it? Maybe an afghan with cute teddy bears on it or a throw with you’re college mascot? In this tutorial I’ll discuss how you can make your very own color chart so that you can use it as a guide while crocheting. Color charts are commonly used to create blankets, but they can always be used to create designs on any item you can imagine, from bags, hats, sweaters, etc. If you’ve never worked with color charts before, feel free to learn about How To Read Color Charts before making your own.

New in the Crochet Spot Store, this hammock styled net gets stuffed animals and other toys up and out of the way. The toy net can be hung in any corner or a room for extra storage. You can even make several nets and hang them on top of each other to create a shelf like storage system. The pattern works up quickly and the size of the net can be adjusted to make them as big or small as desired. Pattern is for the net only, patterns for crocheted toys in photo are sold separately.

Protect your furniture from rings with this quick and easy-to-make coaster. It’s a great stash-buster or scrap project, and the color combinations are endless. Coordinate it with the colors of any room you like to have a cool drink in.
The two-color pattern makes the spiral construction stand out. Since it is crocheted in a spiral the rows have no proper beginning or end, so be sure to use a stitch marker if you need it or just use the color changes as a guide. |

Over the summer I have been in New York City, Chicago and San Francisco. While on business and vacationing I’ve had the opportunity to window shop and browse a variety of stores. I love adapting my wardrobe to the latest style without paying big bucks. As of late, I’ve been seeing a lot of lace and some really cute, feminine hair accessories popping up everywhere! So, I whipped up this super simple hair scrunchie. This is the perfect project for using up leftover bits of yarn. Don’t forget to make some for the little girls in your life! They make great gifts too. |

New in the Crochet Spot Store, crochet this witch hat to top off your Halloween costume or to play dress up around the house. This hat isn’t just for babies or kids, but for adults too! The witch hat is crocheted in the round with double crochet stitches. For best shaping, use a yarn that is stiff rather than soft. You can also starch the hat when you’re finished if desired.

If your winter style is warm and bold, this project is for you. Cuffs keep your wrists warm while adding flair to an otherwise boring top. These are worked in the round with several tiers of ruffles added throughout the cuff. These would look great peeking out from under a coat sleeve. |
