This traditional, classic square basket is easy to crochet. Starting from the bottom up, the basket is crocheted seamlessly in the round like a spiral with no sewing required. Customize the basket to be any size that you desire! Make it large enough to hold toys or even laundry, or small enough to sit on a table top to hold your keys and spare change. Make an entire set of nesting baskets if you wish. The instructions will guide you through adjusting the size so that you can make as many different sized baskets as you want.

Posted in Tutorials and Help on January 19th, 2018 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

If you’re interested in expanding your crochet skills this new year, here are some fun tutorials to try. Ranging from arm crocheting, to Tunisian, to crocheting with beads, there is something new for everyone to learn and share with others. So what are you waiting for? Grab some yarn and try out these tutorials!

How to Arm Crochet – In arm crocheting, the loops which you would usually put on a crochet hook, are placed on your arm/wrist instead. You can still crochet using the same crochet stitches and patterns, but you are supersizing it by using your arm as a giant crochet hook.

Free Crochet Pattern: Mason Jar Crochet Hook Holder

Posted in Free Crochet Patterns on January 17th, 2018 by Rachel Choi – 19 Comments

This pattern was requested by a Crochet Spot reader!
If you have an extra mason jar laying around the house, you can use it to store your crochet hooks! Crochet this simple top to place on a mason jar and you have an instant storage solution. You can also use the holder for pencils and pens. Use a mason jar with a 2 1/2″ opening at the top. I’ve found that there are different sized jars that have the same size opening, so I close to use one of my shorter jars so the tops of the crochet hooks can stick out easier.

10 Winter Favorites to Crochet

Posted in Best Crochet Patterns on January 12th, 2018 by Rachel Choi – Be the first to comment

Winter isn’t over yet, so here are 10 of my favorite crochet patterns to crochet to keep you and your family toasty warm. From sweaters, to scarves, to gloves, check out the patterns below and grab your yarn and get hooking!

These Easy Adjustable Socks can be made to fit any foot size! The pattern is written like a tutorial so that you can adjust the size of the sock as you crochet to get a custom fit. I love crocheted socks, since they have the warmth of a big, bulk commercially made sock, but without the bulky.

The Cozy Keyhole Scarf is a great alternative to a traditional scarf. There’s a keyhole that is crocheted into the scarf so that the scarf wraps around your neck then through the keyhole to keep it in place. It’s just as cozy and warm as a regular scarf, but is quicker to crochet and uses less yarn. You can also crochet a matching Cozy Hat.

The Classic Sweater comes in 9 sizes ranging from X-Small to 5X. It is crocheted from the top down in one piece and can easily be tried on as you crochet to get the perfect fit. This sweater is one if the most popular winter patterns!
